Simon Scott´s working history goes back to the company that originally introduced the Vacuum Casting process at Interplas 1987, Mining and Chemical Products ( MCP ).
MCP, a private family group business enstablished 1890 , finally sold the metals division to SN plus Canada in 2007. The tooling division was taken over by ex employees of MCP who formed MTT. This included metal spray tool technology, vacuum casting machines and materials , low melting point alloys for producing quick sheet metal tooling – used by the automotive industry. The tooling package also included the first pure metal 3-D laser driven Additive Manufacturing equipment for producing complex shaped parts practically in any meltable metal.
Renishaw PLC took over the complete MTT business to concentrate on 3-D Additive Manufacturing equipment which has become very successful worldwide. Simon Scott a director at MCP , MTT and Renishaw recently took over the vacuum casting division together with several employees who have more than 20 years of experience in vacuum casting technology.
